Key Account Manager

Our client is a leading manufacturer of plastic and organic packaging solutions, known for their commitment to quality and innovation. They are seeking an experienced Key Account Manager to drive direct sales growth, manage key accounts, and develop new business opportunities. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining and expanding the company's market presence through strategic sales and business development efforts.

Focus:

  • Manage and nurture relationships with key accounts to ensure continued business and satisfaction.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities to expand the company's market share.
  • Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profits.
  • Provide detailed reports on account status and sales progress.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align sales strategies and initiatives with company goals.
  • Understand customer needs and develop tailored solutions to meet those needs.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and competitor activities.

Skill Set:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, or a related field from a four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of 10 years of related sales and business development experience, preferably in the plastic packaging industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage key accounts and secure new business opportunities.
  • Strong negotiation skills and expertise in value selling.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven decision-making skills with a solid assessment of business situations.
  • Strong financial and analytical competence with solid business acumen.
  • Ability to thrive in a team selling environment.
  • Technical experience in operations and package engineering is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, inventory software, order processing systems, and database software. Experience with Salesforce.com is preferred
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
