Materials Planner

As a Material Planner you will be responsible for managing the supply chain to ensure that materials are available to meet production schedules. You will coordinate with suppliers, manage inventory levels, and ensure timely procurement of materials. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in material planning, purchasing, and supply chain management, with a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage material plans to meet production schedules and customer demand.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure the timely ordering of materials to avoid shortages.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Review and analyze material requirements based on production forecasts and adjust plans accordingly.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing.
  • Coordinate with production, engineering, and other departments to ensure material availability aligns with production schedules.
  • Manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and handle discrepancies with suppliers.
  • Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess supply chain performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations in all purchasing activities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in material planning and procurement processes.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in material planning and purchasing.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management principles and inventory control.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
