About the Role:We are looking for a Large Format Graphic Production Manager for their Elk Grove Village, IL headquarters. This role will oversee daily operations and provide supervision to staff and oversight for a production team of seven to ensure effective use of available resources to efficiently produce printed materials of high quality in a timely manner to meet the stated goals and objectives of the department.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct supervision to production staff and coordinate production scheduling and resources daily.
  • Ensure efficient workflow processes to optimize production and ensure timely delivery of print materials.
  • Collaborate with team members and executive staff to streamline processes and identify opportunities for workflow improvement.
  • Communicate with customers as needed to discuss production and graphic design issues
  • Forecast materials needed to ensure smooth production and purchasing.
  • Enforce quality control procedures to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand standards in all printed materials.
  • Manages inventory and organization of supplies.
  • Maintain RIP software and updates.
  • Understand and create color profiles for specifics medias and print devices.
  • Ensure that equipment is well maintained, and that staff follows safety protocols.
  • Identify problem areas quickly and implement solutions including changes in staffing, mechanical repairs, schedule changes or identifying structural issues with equipment / processes that may require capital expenditures.
  • Implement and manage workflow software/tools to enhance productivity.
  • Maintain daily communication with the President and alert him to short- and long-term issues related to personnel changes and facilities & equipment as they arise.
  • Implement and maintain excellent customer service standards to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages continuous learning and skill development.
  • Understand and monitor graphics servers. Interact with Lead in Digital dept to maintain and support software/hardware updates and equipment updates as needed.
  • Attend local and national industry trade shows as time and schedules allow.
  • Strategic and tactical role – “roll your sleeves up” role as needed to support production staff and aid them in problem solving.
  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of producing products in a multi-stage production environment
  • Experience running large format printers (flatbed, latex), laminators, cutters and plotters
  • Experience with graphic and signage finishing
  • Experience with production of wide format graphics
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator graphic software, experience using these (or similar) tools in a print production environment
  • Detailed knowledge of color management processes and creation of profiles.
  • Passion for excellence, learning and quality

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience preferred


Pay range and compensation package: $85-90k+

Hours 8:30-5 M-F, overtime as needed
