Position Title: Business Development and Marketing Manager (Architecture)
Status: Full-time, Salaried, Exempt from overtime pay
Location: Hybrid; On-site at Detroit office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays
Reports To: Director of Operations
Direct Reports: None, may require future direct reports for Team growth

Education and Experience
- Minimum of seven years of progressive Business Development and Marketing experience in architecture or related industry.
- Degree from a U.S accredited university or higher educational institution in Marketing, Business, Communications, or other related fields.
- Experience in producing Requests for Proposals(RFP) using InDesign or other related programs.
- Project management experience, preferred.
- Experience in the Architecture industry, preferred.
Business Development Responsibilities
- Leads several aspects of short and long-term planning efforts to support firm-wide goals.
- Regularly attend social events to develop business relationships and support the growth of firm project opportunities.
- Leads all RFP/O response efforts; chairs proposal strategy meetings.
- Oversees production of all proposals, presentations and client interviews.
- Attends proposal pre-bid meetings.
- Gathers details and presents consultant teaming negotiations and proposal fee strategies.
- Develops media plan to support firm's overall business goals and communicate firm's brand message.
- Strategizes sponsorships, advertisements and charitable contributions.
- Serves as HAA liaison for external and special events.
- Chairs weekly Business Development/Marketing meetings.
- Oversee Business Development/Marketing team support and vendors.
- Advise HAA Management Team of Business Development and Marketing best practices and opportunities.
Marketing Responsibilities
- Lead overall marketing and strategic sales planning programs.
- Evaluate and support client relations including client satisfaction surveys, product launches, business development strategy, and other special events.
- Ensure effective, branded marketing communications including company website, print communication, social media, internal branding efforts and advertising.
- Analyze the effectiveness of all marketing efforts.
- Conduct competitive market analysis to formulate marketing recommendations for promotional strategies.
- Manage external marketing partners, such as advertising agencies and production companies.
- Develop and uphold branding standards and usage guidelines.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience establishing direct and interactive Business Development and Marketing strategies.
- Experience implementing website design and search engine optimization.
- Collaborative relationship builder with internal and external customers.
- Demonstrated proficiency in advanced features of CRM systems and all MS Office products.
- Demonstrated proficiency in intermediate features of graphic software programs such as InDesign.
- Ability to work tactfully and cooperatively with a diverse group of Team Members, clients, and vendors.
- Able to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.
- Ability to communicate with respect and professionalism.
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities with flexibility.
- Ability to proofread and produce communications with minimum errors.
- Ability to successfully navigate deadlines and team responsibilities.
- Ability to compose letters and documents independently, while following established guidelines.
- Working knowledge of the policies and procedures of an architecture/ landscape architecture firm.
- Working knowledge of office practices, procedures and guidelines.
