Position Summary

The primary objective of the Senior Systems Analyst/Programmer II is to work collaboratively with IT and stakeholders to deliver value added solutions and application services which align with business needs and expectations. The Senior Systems Analyst/Programmer II is responsible for supporting, defining, developing, testing, analyzing, and maintaining existing or new software applications in support of business requirements and objectives. This includes writing, coding, testing, and analyzing software programs and applications. The Senior Programmer/Analyst II will also research, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle. This individual will also provide support and guidance to other business users and Programmer/Analysts.

In This Role, You Will

  • Support the critical business applications which enable the company to execute our core business processes and transactions. These core processes and transactions consist of:
  • Land Administration creating, processing, and maintaining division orders data.
  • Revenue Accounting processing revenue checks, revenue distribution checks, and accruals.
  • Joint Interest Billing invoice billing transactions.
  • Financial Accounting producing quarterly and annual financial reports.
  • Engineering, Geology, and GIS in the visual representation of our properties and wells within ESRI based maps.
  • IT Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance and change management discipline and processes.
  • Participate as a key resource and advisor for IT related systems and initiatives.
  • Act as technical project advisor on major projects and may direct major components of smaller projects.
  • Work with other Systems Analysts/Programmers and business units to ensure all systems are performing as needed.
  • Participate in testing and evaluation of new technologies to ensure compatibility and functionality.
  • Provide technical advice on internal departmental procedures and recommend/promote improved productivity or efficiency.
  • Develop strong relationships in IT and across the company to maintain an awareness of current and future application needs.
  • Develop system enhancement proposals with business management including the development and/or evaluation of potential solutions and coordinating with any third-party vendors as required.
  • Coordinate and execute the IT system change management processes and tasks.
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of the IT solutions employed including data sources/structures, applications, integrations, and business processes.
  • Lead the implementation of application projects while working in conjunction with other Systems Analysts/Programmers, IT Infrastructure staff, and business groups/users.

What We Require

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related discipline.
  • Three (3)+ years of experience in system and user technical support.
  • Three (3)+ years of development experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle PL/SQL, and .NET.
  • Quorum Upstream Suite, Quorum Land, and Quorum GIS business and technical support knowledge.
  • Experience with Crystal Reports and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) preferred.
  • Experience with ArcGIS 10.0 or greater and Python 2.7.6, 3 preferred.
  • SOX Information Technology processes and compliance experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal business units, as well as with external parties.
  • Ability to function independently and be self-motivated.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
