Overview


Reporting to the Revenue Accounting Manager and as a member of the Revenue Accounting Team, you will collaborate closely with key finance, billing, and business teams to provide monthly support for various general ledger and accounting functions.

The ideal candidate will possess familiarity with ASC 606 and revenue recognition pertaining to software and technology.

Responsibilities

1. Assess contracts and billings for appropriate revenue treatments.
2. Review new contract terms and confirm contract setup in NetSuite for accuracy, including billing rates, frequency, renewals, and terminations.
3. Generate client invoices monthly based on contracts.
4. Reconcile Deferred and Unbilled Revenue across multiple entities, product lines, and revenue streams.
5. Prepare and analyze the Deferred Revenue waterfall/roll-off schedule supporting the total recorded deferred revenue balance.
6. Analyze sales order setups to quantify and validate anticipated contract renewals.
7. Examine anticipated versus completed invoice statuses to identify exceptions.
8. Collaborate within a team environment to share knowledge and insights.
9. Execute assigned responsibilities for the monthly close process, ensuring all items on the close checklist are completed.
10. Handle general accounting functions, including preparing journal entries, intercompany accounting, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
11. Ensure compliance of company financial statements with policies, directives, US GAAP, and reporting requirements.
12. Meet deadlines for accounting close, reporting, and other internal and external obligations.

Assist in documenting, maintaining, and ensuring policies and procedures (internal controls) are in place to provide reasonable assurance that company assets are safeguarded.

Assist with accounting and reporting for mergers and acquisitions, as well as the implementation of new accounting standards.
Prepare audit schedules and coordinate activities related to external audits.
Engage in various special projects.
Communicate effectively and timely, both in-person and remotely, regarding status, progress, and challenges to ensure the timely completion and review of all work deliverables.
And perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field is required.
2. 6+ years of progressive accounting experience.
3. Proven analytical skills to assess the reasonableness of results and projections.
4. Advanced system skills within ERP, reporting tools, and Microsoft applications.
5. Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
6. Familiarity with ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
7. High standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
8. Strong analytical and organizational skills.
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
10. Highly driven and self-motivated.
11. Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions.
12. Intermediate to strong proficiency in Excel.

Preferred Skills

CPA or advanced degree preferred.

Background Check:

Employment eligibility to work with Quorum Software in the US or Canada is required, as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for this position.
