Financial Analyst

The Financial Analyst will report to the Finance Manager and will provide general accounting and analytical support for the manufacturing site. The Financial Analyst will have the opportunity to work within all systems ensuring good financial performance through monitoring, reporting, escalating and troubleshooting. This role also provides a hybrid schedule working from home 2 days a week.


Responsibilities

  • Participate in the monthly and quarterly closing processes by completing all required reports and documents within the month and quarter-end deadlines.
  • Create and enter journal entries into the system for a limited number of accounts under your responsibility.
  • Perform the financial analysis of a limited number of accounts within your responsibilities such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, intercompany accounts and bank reconciliations.
  • Assist the finance manager by playing an active role in the monthly financial reporting activities by preparing, analyzing and summarizing results.
  • Develop an understanding of the ERP and financial system by understanding its functionality, its interconnection with the manufacturing operations, and interpreting the data.
  • Track costs and profitability.
  • Assist in Internal Control for generally accepted accounting principles and business activities.
  • Assessing gaps and opportunities to improve efficiency in order to make process improvements.
  • Participate in various “ad hoc” projects, as assigned, ensuring their contribution to the plants financial objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field with 2 plus years of experience; Associates Degree in finance, business, accounting or related field with 4 plus years of experience, or other equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, rigor and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization, gaining trust of employees, peers and management.
  • Experience with CRM/ERP systems preferred
  • Experience working in the manufacturing industry preferred
