Securian Financial Group is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Sr. Analyst to join our Institutional Retirement Solutions (IRS) finance team. As an Accounting Sr. Analyst, you will play a critical role in designing accounting for new products, preparing accounting entries for GAAP and Statutory financial statements, and working closely with auditors and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and reporting, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Prepare journal entries and ensure the accuracy of accounting transactions processed.
  • Perform analysis to understand key trends and variances driving financial results.
  • Develop and document procedures to ensure accuracy of accounting.
  • Support the preparation and communication of financial information for auditors, insurance examiners, rating agencies, and company leaders.
Qualifications:
  • Accounting experience with exposure to statutory, management-based, tax, and GAAP for financial reporting and budgeting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Math.
  • Demonstrated initiative to serve as a resource for team members and independently manage projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to provide superior customer service to a variety of business partners.
  • Strong analytical skills to review and analyze financial statements and reports.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of insurance accounting concepts and products.
  • Reinsurance accounting experience.
