Summary:

At our company, our goal is to explore, innovate and design novel interfaces and hardware subsystems for the next generation of virtual, augmented, and mixed reality experiences.

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Research Scientist to join our team, whose mission is to research new AR input devices. We are specifically looking for a candidate with experience in signal processing, ML and HCI input sensing problems, who can work with a team of researchers and engineers to build and study interactive AR systems. More broadly, the chosen candidate will work with a diverse and highly interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers and will have access to cutting edge technology, resources, and testing facilities.



Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate and communicate effectively in a highly cross-functional team of researchers, hardware and software engineers.
  • Run or assist in data collection and data analyses to characterize and evaluate different sensing modalities.
  • Design and implement algorithms and software for AR input prototype devices, using state of the art signal processing and machine learning techniques
  • Design and implement user experiments to evaluate usability and performance of our prototype devices


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters degree or equivalent practical experience in bioengineering, computer Science or related technical field
  • Experience with applying machine learning or other signal processing techniques to noisy biosensors data in real-time
  • Experience working with sensors, actuators and instrumentation hardware (e.g., IMU, EMG, EIT)
  • Proficiency in Python and software best practices, including code reviews and version control
  • Proficiency with statistical toolboxes (such as Matlab, Python, R)
  • Experience with building, optimizing, and troubleshooting interactive user experiences


Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by patents, shipped products, or publications.
  • Experience with C++ and systems programming, e.g. networking, multi-threading
  • 3+ years of experience in industry
  • Strong communication and personal management skills
