Marketing/Proposal Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a key member of our Sales team, the Marketing/Proposal Manager provides leadership or support on a variety of business development assignments, ranging from highly strategic proposals to the development of qualification packages, resumes, and project profiles. This role within DPS provides an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to help drive a rapidly growing business.

The Marketing/Proposal Manager should be a highly motivated self-starter who embraces creativity in marketing and sales, and demonstrates the ability to translate that creativity into useful marketing products and/or proposals. High attention to detail is a must.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Manage and execute the proposal lifecycle of all project opportunities with minimal direction and supervision.

· Evaluate RFP documents and requests from clients, develop proposal checklist to communicate needs with operations team members at proposal kick off and ensure client needs are met in the finished proposal.

· Coordinate, write, and edit/tailor, non-technical proposal sections; ensure compliance. Contribute to/edit technical sections.

· Responsible for evaluation of the request and establish win strategy for the proposal, leveraging the operations subject matter experts and project managers to produce impactful content.

· Participate in team alignment calls and strategy discussions to gain insights into the business opportunity, understand key messages/differentiators and develop win themes

· Assist with preparation of slides for shortlist presentations and miscellaneous non-proposal-related public speaking opportunities.

· Participates in strategy / preparation meetings for client interview presentations with team members such as principals, executives, estimators, project managers and other team members.

· Attend weekly Business Development meetings. Present Proposal Activity Reports to the operations Business Units (BUs) and coordinate proposal needs / status.

· Manage inside sales using our ERP software Deltek to update, track and report on all proposals.

· Track and report metrics regarding proposal activity and performance.

· Update and share marketing activity reports on a weekly basis detailing proposals, recently won opportunities, and industry events.

· Create, update and maintain marketing collateral including: resumes, project sheets, approach text, and qualification packages.

· Own industry events planning calendar and lead preparation for the events.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s degree in a business, communications or technical track

· Strong IT skills; MS Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint, Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office, Illustrator and Photoshop, Deltek or similar CRM.

· Understanding of the Life Sciences Market and other Process Manufacturing market knowledge is a plus. Familiarity with one or all of our business units: Architectural, Engineering, Construction Management and Commissioning, Qualification and Validation.

· 3+ years of experience in related role

· Superior project and time management skills, able to effectively coordinate various levels of SMEs effectively to deliver complicated responses on-time – able to work successfully under time sensitive deadlines and in stressful environments

· Self-motivated and self-managed, with an ownership mentality

· Project Management skills.

· Excellent writing, communication and influencing skills.

· Able to effectively prioritize among multiple, competing, high priority responses

· Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
