Role Overview: The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for performing tasks such as requirement analysis, design, testing, and documentation to assist in the development, improvement, and upkeep of the company's systems. This role will primarily focus on, but is not limited to, Business Intelligence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts quality assurance testing for applications, websites, databases, data, systems, integrations, reporting, and processes that range from moderately complex.
  • Executes a full spectrum of testing activities, including the development of test strategies, plans, and scripts, along with quality documentation for various systems, applications, databases, or websites.
  • Analyzes business requirements, asking in-depth questions to fully grasp business needs and their relationship to current processes and system functionality.
  • Works closely with the team to redefine and narrate system features, functions, and processes.
  • Implements and oversees defect management processes for applications, systems, databases, or websites.
  • Reviews application features and functions, ensuring the validation of test automation solutions.
  • Offers expertise in quality methodologies and advises on testing strategies.
  • Provides elevated (Tier 2) support, including on-call duties for critical issues after hours, during weekends, or on holidays. Troubleshoots complex production problems, seeing them through to resolution or appropriate escalation. Actively seeks collaboration opportunities with other IT teams.
  • May serve as the project Quality Lead and provide training and technical guidance.
  • Collaborates with both internal and external teams to drive a strategy and execution focused on quality.
  • Creates or updates project documentation following Agile methodologies, processes, and standards.
  • Engages in or leads internal initiatives aimed at implementing, utilizing, and refining processes, procedures, guidelines, and metrics for the Quality team, BI Team, or IT organization where dedicated QA testers may not be present.
  • Provides technical leadership and mentoring, consulting with other teams to offer technology solutions for business needs or to resolve issues.
  • Stays informed about industry developments, technologies, and strategies.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or equivalent experience is required.

Experience Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Software Quality Assurance role is required.
  • Proficient in advanced Excel.
  • Experience in writing complex SQL queries.
  • Background in data and analytics testing.
  • Familiarity with XLCubed is a plus.
  • Experience in Finance or accounting is highly advantageous.
  • Experience working within a collaborative team environment.
