Our excavation client is seeking a Lead Diesel Mechanic with ten (10) or more years of experience performing diagnostics and repairs on Heavy Machinery and trucks in our fleet.

The heavy equipment mechanic is responsible for maintaining all equipment in our fleet in a safe and operating manner along with all preventative maintenance. Must have proven experience in all phases of heavy equipment repair, all types and brands, including, but not limited to: Cat, John Deere, Volvo, Komatsu, etc. Applicants must also have strong knowledge of heavy truck repair (5th wheel Tractors and Trailers included).

Applicants must have an extensive, complete set of own tools. Service truck with crane supplied, as well as a shop truck

What you will do:

  • Maintain and diagnose service machinery in order to keep it operational on road or in workshop
  • Provide preventative maintenance, repairs, and service on heavy construction equipment
  • Make sure all work is performed in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Lend expertise to other team members as needed

Responsibilities:

  • Prevent breakdowns in heavy equipment by conducting preventive maintenance and repairs
  • Oversee and repair process for mechanical equipment
  • Perform repairs on hydraulic and electrical systems, also complete overhauls to in-frame work
  • Follow manufacturer’s directions, able to complete full R&R of a magnitude of equipment and vehicles
  • Check integrity of equipment
  • Inspect, and diagnose manually, and with electronic software
  • Keep detailed maintenance records electronic input is required daily, as well as keeping office up to date with progress
  • Source parts, compare quotes for option on said repairs

Qualifications

1. Graduation from high school or GED equivalent. (Preferred)

2. Vast knowledge in heavy equipment mechanics

3. 10+ years’ of heavy equipment mechanic experience on a wide variety of equipment.

4.Ability to work Manage a team as well as work independently. With strong computer and communication skills

5.Knowledge of equipment repair and maintenance; electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems; mechanical systems troubleshooting


Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
