The State of Montana is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment and Vehicle Technician to join its team. This position is responsible for assisting with the maintenance and repair of machinery and mechanical equipment, including automobiles, light and heavy-duty trucks, and construction equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the diagnosis and repair of non-functional parts of devices and control instruments
  • Replace worn or defective parts
  • Repair and replace tires on vehicles and equipment
  • Lubricate and clean parts
  • Perform some minor repairs without supervision

Requirements:

  • Experience in heavy equipment and vehicle maintenance and repair
  • Knowledge of diesel, gasoline, hybrid, and propane-powered equipment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
