The successful candidate will be a dynamic self-starter with a diverse procurement and supply chain operations background. This person must possess a strong action orientation, excellent analytical and communication skills, a hands-on business approach, and the desire to succeed in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Responsibilities include:

  • Implement and utilize efficient supplier management strategies (supplier quality and performance, VMI, favorable contract terms, etc.). Build redundancy in the supply base for high-risk components and manage supplier relationships.
  • Optimize supply base and negotiate and develop supplier partners with best-in-class quality, cost, OTD and payment terms. Seek out partners offering value-add services and suggest methods to optimize cost performance.
  • Simplify procurement processes and inventory management using best practices and Lean tools.
  • Manage inventory levels to achieve OTD and business targets. Prepare inventory and planning projections and schedule deliveries to coincide with production needs while minimizing excess inventory on-hand.
  • Manage and continuously improve production planning and inventory management functions. Coach, mentor, and develop team to meet business needs.
  • Other duties/special projects as assigned as assigned.


Requirements:

  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience. Advanced degree and/or certification a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in purchasing, production planning, and inventory management experience in a manufacturing environment, including supervisory responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated success in supplier selection and performance management, cost management, contract and pricing negotiation, risk management, and managing projects from concept through delivery.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement concepts.
  • Critical thinker with ability to troubleshoot and solve problems proactively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing others, building consensus, and negotiating favorable terms.
  • Hands-on team member and builder who can roll up your sleeves and be in the details as needed with your team, peers, suppliers, and customers.
  • Highly organized with the flexibility to pivot as needed to meet evolving business needs.
  • Strong technical skills (ERP/MRP, MS Office with advanced Excel use).
