Position Overview:

We are seeking a Test Technician to join our dynamic Test Team. In this role, you will support mechanical design, assembly of test rigs, and test execution. You will work on multiple projects, aiding engineers in fixture design, assembly, test execution, and troubleshooting. You will also test the hardware and software of our next-generation electrical VTOL aircraft. The ideal candidate is proactive, self-motivated, hands-on, and adheres to best safety practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and build custom test fixtures.
  • Interpret drawings and CAD models to assemble electromechanical systems, test fixtures, and harnesses.
  • Select and procure necessary hardware and tools.
  • Create assembly instructions and bill of materials for test fixtures.
  • Develop and follow test procedures and processes.
  • Execute tests using internal lab equipment or at external labs.
  • Review data and compile test reports.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized lab space with tool control, calibration, and inventory management.
  • Adhere to best safety practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years of experience as a technician assembling electromechanical mechanisms and/or power electronic assemblies.
  • Proficient with hand tools, machine shop tools (e.g., mill, drill, chop saw), and metrology tools (e.g., caliper, measurement gauges).
  • Ability to work from procedures and drawings with minimal guidance.
  • Experience in executing tests and documenting test results.
  • Experience operating a forklift, lifting, and rigging equipment.
  • Comfortable working with high voltage (600V and higher), batteries, and electric motors.
  • Proficiency with basic electronics tools (e.g., oscilloscope, multimeter).
  • Understanding of aerospace safety, tool control, FOD, and industry standards.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with data acquisition devices and sensors (e.g., accelerometers, thermocouples, strain gages).
  • Experience working in various test lab environments.
  • Familiarity with Linux and scripting languages such as Matlab or Python.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, startup environment.
