Reports to Product Test Supervisor

Company Description

Amprius develops, designs, and manufactures very high-performance lithium-ion cells for advanced applications. Amprius invented and perfected a 100% silicon anode which enables the highest energy density cell commercially available in the industry.

Summary

The Battery Test Technician will conduct tests and inspections to evaluate the quality and performance of products. We are seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team of Engineers and Technicians. This role will report to the Product Test Supervisor. This is a TEMP role with an opportunity to be converted to PERM.

Job Duties
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and procedures to ensure the product is per the specifications provided.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Visually evaluate defects from a list of standard defects.
  • Test products for quality and performance per the testing protocols using various testing tools and equipment
  • Report any issues through the defined protocol
  • Conduct OCV checks
  • Record testing data into quality management software
  • Prepare cells for shipment.
  • Maintain lab and testing equipment
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of testing techniques
  • Knowledge of basic electrical connections.
  • Experience with PCB soldering is desireable
  • Using and maintaining hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, drills, Dremel.
  • Using and maintaining battery production equipment such as but not limited to, pneumatic cutter, degas machine, formation machine.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Battery Test Equipment such as mass scale, digital multi-meter, and caliper.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to enter data accurately
  • Responsible for ensuring the quality of tasks performed is up to and above the expected company standards.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and procedures. Take responsibility for ensuring that all safety protocols are followed per instructions.
  • Keep the work area clean and well organized.
  • Must be a team player and be able to perform tasks with minimum supervision.

Experience and Education
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Associates preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a production test technician or product tester.

Physical Demands & Work Location:
  • Fremont, CA: This is an on-site job. Reliable commute or planning to relocate before starting work is required.
  • Adhere to the company’s quality and safety requirements.
  • Be able to lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds.
  • May be required to stand, sit, squat, bend, kneel, twist, crawl, reach, lift, balance, push, and pull.
  • Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, respirator and safety shoes.

Work Schedule:
  • Alternate Workweek Schedule
  • Sunday/Monday/Tuesday + alternate Wednesday from 5:30 am to 6:00 pm
