Amprius is at the forefront of developing, designing, and manufacturing high-performance lithium-ion cells tailored for advanced applications. Our innovation includes the creation of a 100% silicon anode, which allows us to offer the highest energy density cells available in the market.

Position Summary

The Battery Test Technician is responsible for performing tests and inspections to assess the quality and functionality of our products. We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to become part of our team of Engineers and Technicians. This role will report directly to the Product Test Supervisor. This is a temporary position with potential for permanent employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow verbal and written instructions meticulously to ensure products meet specified standards.
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Conduct visual inspections to identify defects based on established criteria.
  • Perform quality and performance tests according to defined protocols using various testing tools and equipment.
  • Document any issues following the established reporting procedures.
  • Execute open circuit voltage (OCV) checks.
  • Input testing data into quality management software accurately.
  • Prepare cells for shipment as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and functionality of the laboratory and testing equipment.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Ability to meet project deadlines consistently.
  • Familiarity with testing methodologies.
  • Understanding of basic electrical connections.
  • Experience with PCB soldering is preferred.
  • Proficient in using and maintaining hand and power tools, including screwdrivers, pliers, drills, and Dremel tools.
  • Experience with battery production equipment such as pneumatic cutters, degas machines, and formation machines.
  • Knowledge of battery testing equipment, including mass scales, digital multimeters, and calipers.
  • Basic computer skills with a focus on accurate data entry.
  • Commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in all tasks performed.
  • Awareness of safety standards and procedures, ensuring compliance with all safety protocols.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team with minimal supervision.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required; an Associate's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a production testing or product testing role.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • This position is based in Fremont, CA, requiring reliable commuting or relocation plans.
  • Adhere to the company's quality and safety standards.
  • Ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • May involve standing, sitting, squatting, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling, reaching, lifting, balancing, pushing, and pulling.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as lab coats, gloves, safety glasses, face masks, respirators, and safety shoes must be worn.
Work Schedule
  • Alternate Workweek Schedule
  • Sunday/Monday/Tuesday + alternate Wednesday from 5:30 am to 6:00 pm
Compensation and Benefits
  • Hourly Rate: $30.00, based on knowledge, skills, and experience.
