Position Title: Import Coordinator

As an Import Coordinator, you will serve as a pivotal link between various departments within our organization. Your primary responsibilities will involve overseeing and facilitating paperwork and system controls for domestic shipping and receiving operations. This includes ensuring the procurement of competitive, consistent, and reliable transportation capacity, encompassing FTL, LTL, and Rail services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The routing of trucks in alignment with buyer requirements to ensure cost-efficient and timely delivery to our facility.
  • Ensuring all shipping documents are complete and adherence to established procedures, verifying accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage cargo movements and status, resolving any delays or issues promptly to maintain efficient operations.
  • Engage with carriers and customers to ensure on-time delivery and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Manage shipping-related claims, investigating incidents, implementing cost-effective solutions, and preventing future occurrences.
  • Manage transportation-related invoices and promptly enter relevant information into the system, resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors to optimize delivery outcomes.
  • Manage competitive transportation quotes and input relevant data into the system in a timely manner.
  • Provide backup support to Customs Clearance Specialists as required, ensuring continuity of operations.
  • Support filing duties as necessary, maintaining organized records and documentation.
  • Foster strong relationships and enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in logistics or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1 year of import experience
  • 0-2 years of experience in coordinating domestic transportation or a related area.
  • Knowledge of carrier service coverage, delivery standards, and competitive rates with tracking, tracing shipments, and outbound logistics operations to work effectively in a team environment, handling pressure situations and changing demands.
  • Strong Understanding of D.O.T. regulations and industry standards.
