Purchasing Clerk

THE ROLE: The Purchasing Clerk will be responsible for accurately inputting, updating, and maintaining purchasing data in our systems. This role is essential for ensuring that our procurement processes run smoothly and that our purchasing team has access to timely and accurate information.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accurately enter and update purchasing data, including vendor information, pricing, purchase orders, and inventory levels.
- Review and verify data for accuracy and completeness before entry.
- Process bill of ladings and receive into the system accurately and timely.
- Foster relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Assist in the generation of reports related to purchasing activities and inventory status.
- Collaborate with the Purchasing and Accounts Payable teams to ensure data consistency and address discrepancies as needed.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems for purchasing documentation.
- Support audits by providing necessary documentation and data as requested.
- Assist with other administrative tasks related to purchasing and inventory management as needed.
- Protects the organization's value by keeping information confidential.
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in business or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in data entry or administrative roles, preferably in purchasing or supply chain environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; and other data management software.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with high accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to adapt to internal purchasing programs; willingness to learn.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and professionalism always.
