Role Description

This is a full-time role for an Outside Sales Representative located in Houston, TX. The Outside Sales Representative will be responsible for day-to-day tasks associated with generating and qualifying leads, building and maintaining relationships, conducting sales presentations, creating new business opportunities, and providing exceptional customer service.


Key Responsibilities:

Customer Relationship Building:

  • Be available to engage with clients as needed
  • Conduct regular visits to establish and strengthen relationships with customer accounts
  • Manage customer accounts proactively, ensuring satisfaction and addressing any concerns
  • Prospect new fuel and lubricant opportunities by working in the field a minimum of 3 days per week
  • Onboard new customers monthly for both fuel and lubricants while managing and maintaining your current book of business
  • Ask for referrals


Sales Development:

  • Develop and expand the sales and customer base for all products and services within the assigned region
  • Understand 3L Energy Solutions products, services, and capabilities
  • Prospect, develop, and maintain relationships with new and existing customers
  • Cross sell other products into existing customers (fuel, oils, lubricants, and environmental services)
  • Grow gallons and gross profit each month


Feedback and Reporting:

  • Provide regular feedback reports to your supervisor regarding customer contacts
  • Schedule meetings with prospects to identify the full scope of the opportunity to include fuel, lubricants, and environmental services
  • Prepare professional proposals to deliver to prospective clients based on their specific needs with the solutions 3L can provide
  • Maintain and update your pipeline report monthly to identify opportunities that were won, lost, and new potential opportunities
  • Complete assignments and training timely as designated by your supervisor
  • Review A/R report weekly and assist in collecting past due invoices
  • Review Sales Gross Profit report weekly for fuel and lubricants to ensure we are capturing the expected profit


Sales Support:

  • Follow up on customer quotations promptly
  • Collaborate with the sales team to achieve monthly budgets and expenses aligned with company goals


Qualifications

  • Preferred knowledge of lubricants
  • Preferred experience in the energy or oil and gas industry
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and competitive with strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on client satisfaction
  • Proven track record of success in sales and customer service
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent phone and general prospecting skills along with exceptional fact finding and closing techniques
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with basic knowledge of email and PC functions
  • Ability to learn and retain product-specific information and effectively communicate features and benefits to customers
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of common business practices related to purchase, pricing, terms, shipment, taxes, and payment for products and services
  • Ability to travel within designated territory as needed; other travel may be required
