Director, Financial Applications and IT Compliance

Trinity Industries is seeking a Director-Financial Applications and IT Compliance for our Dallas, TX HQ.


Responsibilities:


  • Oversee the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the enterprise systems that support Finance and Accounting
  • Define and execute the vision, strategy, roadmap, and architecture that support the business goals and objectives
  • Manage the enterprise systems portfolio, including the selection, acquisition, integration, deployment, upgrade, and retirement of systems
  • Ensure the quality, performance, availability, reliability, scalability, security, and compliance of the enterprise systems
  • Implement best practices and standards for enterprise systems development and maintenance
  • Enforce adherence to and execute SOX and other audit controls
  • Manage the enterprise systems budget, resources, contracts, vendors, and optimize ROI/TCO.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the enterprise systems staff, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate with the senior management, business units, IT departments, and external stakeholders to understand the business requirements, expectations, and feedback…deliver solutions that meet or exceed them
  • Monitor and evaluate the enterprise systems performance, metrics, and outcomes. Report on the progress, issues, and risks.
  • Stay updated on trends, technologies, and best practices in the enterprise systems domain, identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement and innovation

  • Responsible for aligning the IT Enterprise Systems strategy with the business goals and objectives, ensuring the quality and security of the systems, managing the budget/resources, and leading the Enterprise Systems Financial Applications team.
  • Define, execute and monitor IT controls for all SOX relevant systems across Trinity to ensure compliance with internal/external audit and Information Risk Management processes and policies.
  • Serve as the lead IT Business Partner to the CFO, Chief Audit Officer, and Information Risk Management leadership
  • Manage annual planning and monthly budgeting/forecasting (IT and FIS)
  • Lead multiple Managed Service Partners – oversee resources from key partners that provide technical support of infrastructure, application maintenance and ongoing incremental projects
  • Ownership of multiple cloud data centers to include planning, execution, SOX controls, SOC reports, infrastructure (patching, refresh, backups, etc.), disaster recovery and business continuity plans
  • Assess, evaluate, standardize and operationalize control activities across financial applications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master’s or MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience working with finance applications, with a focus on requirements definition, design, development, and project management
  • Must have prior experience overseeing Oracle Financial Applications including implementation, system management, and operational efficiency
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience defining and performing SDLC/IT audit controls
  • Minimum of 8 years of related management experience
  • Expertise in systems architecture, to include application, database, and middleware
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage IT teams and projects
  • Strategic planning and governance
  • Prior GRC experience is highly preferred
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage various project elements simultaneously
