Strategic Sourcing Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Strategic Sourcing Specialist to play a key role in optimizing our supply chain and reducing procurement costs. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing a wide range of direct and indirect materials and services across multiple manufacturing sites. You will leverage your expertise in market research, negotiation, and contract management to develop and execute strategic sourcing plans that deliver cost savings, improve quality, and ensure supply continuity.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct spend analysis to identify cost reduction opportunities for direct and indirect materials and services across multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for assigned commodities, considering factors such as cost, quality, delivery lead time, and supplier risk.
  • Conduct market research to identify and qualify potential suppliers, including researching industry trends, competitor pricing, and supplier capabilities.
  • Manage the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, including developing solicitation documents, evaluating responses, and shortlisting qualified suppliers.
  • Negotiate and finalize contracts with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the company.
  • Monitor supplier performance against agreed-upon metrics, including quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders across various departments (engineering, production, quality) and external suppliers.
  • Stay abreast of market trends and industry best practices in procurement and supply chain management.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize sourcing processes and reduce procurement costs.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, or a related field (Preferred, not required)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, with a proven track record of cost savings.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in conducting spend analysis and market research.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems a plus.
  • Working knowledge of contract management principles.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
