Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Teesside. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in pipe work, hot work, and working with live equipment. This is a contract role within the oil and gas industry, requiring expertise in maintaining and repairing pipe systems while the plant is operational. Immediate availability is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and execute pipe work repairs and maintenance on a live plant.
  • Perform hot work operations safely and efficiently.
  • Develop and write detailed work scopes for various mechanical projects.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of repair activities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards during all operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues in a timely manner.
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure plant reliability.
Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer in the oil and gas industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of pipe work, hot work, and live equipment.
  • Experience working on live plants with the ability to manage repairs without interrupting operations.
  • Strong background in writing work scopes and technical documentation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Immediate availability is required.
Additional Information:

  • This is a contract role inside IR35, offering competitive rates.
  • The role requires working on-site in Teesside.
  • Candidates must be available to start immediately.
