Successful candidates will play a lead role in the development of real-time embedded firmware for our next generation of medical devices. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in patient lives by creating innovative solutions at the forefront of medical technology. Lead the design and development of real-time embedded firmware for new medical devices. Design and implement firmware to control various components, including Analog Devices, ADCs, DACs, stepper motors, fluorometers, and Peltier controllers. Develop communication protocols for CAN bus, SPI, I2C, UART, and USB interfaces. Utilize Microchip in-circuit debuggers for unit testing and defect identification. Create clear and concise documentation, including flowcharts, diagrams, and explanations of firmware logic and design. Champion Agile methodologies by leading planning sessions, Scrum processes, and retrospectives. Mentor and guide junior engineers on the team, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
Requirements:
- 5-10 years of experience in embedded C programming with a strong track record of success.
- Proven expertise in developing firmware for Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADCs) and Digital-to-Analog Converters (DACs).
- In-depth knowledge of microprocessor architecture, real-time/embedded systems, and real-time operating systems fundamentals.
- Ability to read and interpret circuit-board schematics.
- Prior medical device experience strong preference
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science required.
Bonus Skills:
- Experience with C#/.Net for Windows development is a benefit.
- Master's degree is a plus
- Experience with CAN bus
- Familiarity with Thermal Cyclers, Heating Control Elements, and similar hardware is a strong plus.
