This role will serve as the primary contact regarding state legislation for the State Relations team and member company lobbyists on a variety of issues, with an emphasis on researching state legislation and regulations and communicating findings. If you have two years of legislative or legal research experience and are eager to bring your writing, research, and analytical skills to a trade association, this could be a great fit for you


Responsibilities Include:

  • Research complex state legislation, regulations, and policy issues and draft proposed materials related to findings
  • Write and proofread various documents, memos, and correspondence
  • Serve as point of contact for policy issues
  • Prepare agendas and other materials for committee meetings and presentations
  • Ensure that department's website is up to date
  • Provide administrative support to the Political Action Committee


Qualifications Include:

  • 2+ years of legislative or legal research experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Financial services or tax policy knowledge preferred
  • Advanced analytical and research skills
  • A keen understanding of the legislative process
  • Excellent proofreading and writing skills


Candidates for this position must be based in DC, MD, or VA area or have independent plans for relocation.
