Mobile Crisis Response Therapist

Pillars Community Health is seeking to hire a full-time Mobile Crisis Response Therapist to provide crisis intervention to clients and assess for inpatient psychiatric hospitalization.

A Day In The Life Of A Mobile Crisis Response Therapist


When clients are in the midst of an emergency or coping with the aftermath of trauma, it’s important to be able to get help for them quickly. Pillars Community Health has been offering Crisis Intervention Services since 1976. Our Crisis Team helps stabilize personal and family emergencies and sudden traumas that impact entire communities


Mobile Crisis Response Therapists assist children, adolescents, and adults experiencing a mental health crisis and their families. Staff help individuals and/or their family make a plan to help them remain in the community.


MCR Therapists provide screening to see if an inpatient psychiatric hospitalization is needed and provide 90-day crisis stabilization (including intense home-based therapy and case management with linkage to long-term programs).

You will have a profound impact on our clients’ progress. Responsibilities include conducting emergency on-site assessments to determine the need for inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, providing crisis intervention services to police, school and hospital personnel, and community residents managing crisis situations, crisis stabilization treatment using brief intervention, and solution focus therapy is provided for up to 30 days until situation has been resolved or the client can be assigned to appropriate level of care or agency program.


Staff participate in a rotation schedule with all other mobile crisis response therapists assigned to the team. Typically, covering 2-3 day a week of 7 hour call shifts per week, M-F. (7am-2pm or 2pm-9pm) and office days for client follow-up the other days of the week.


In addition, you will participate in weekly clinical supervision and consultation groups. These clinical experiences will provide a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment for clinical growth and development.


Many of our staff are also bilingual and provide crisis intervention in both languages. It is so important that staff can share in culture and perspectives with our clients in order to provide the best care.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill and or ability required. Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or related degree. Related experience should include work with adults, children and adolescents, crisis intervention, assessment, case management, brief treatment, and home and community-based interventions.


Bi-lingual (Preferred): Spanish-speaking, reading, writing skills preferred. Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with consumers, referral sources, and other community providers is essential


OTHER

Must maintain a safe driving record and have current valid Illinois Driver’s License and vehicle. Personal vehicle needed for transportation to/from community and home-based interventions. Mileage for authorized work-related purposes is reimbursable.
