Owners Engineer

Overview:
This is an opportunity for an ambitious PE licensed engineer to take off their career and eventually gain ownership of a successful environmental and design services consultancy. As the current owner looks towards retirement, he is looking to engage a long term employee who will look to take over the business over time.
Beyond daily engineering tasks and project management, this person will contribute to innovative design, development, and implementation of environmental management systems.
The company is based in Milwaukie, OR and mostly serves OR, WA & NV. We do require applicants to have a PE license in at least one of these locations.
Role:
- Lead engineering projects from conception through completion, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets.
- Oversee the design and implementation of innovative environmental management systems and solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including environmental scientists, geologists, and construction managers, to deliver integrated project outcomes.
- Conduct thorough site assessments and data analyses to inform project designs and regulatory compliance strategies.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including technical reports, permits, and regulatory filings.
- Engage with clients to understand their needs, provide expert advice, and ensure satisfaction with project outcomes.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure the company remains at the forefront of environmental engineering.
Qualifications:
- Strong foundation in engineering principles, with demonstrated expertise in environmental, geologic, and civil design.
- Proven experience in managing complex projects, from initial planning through final implementation.
- Excellent technical writing and documentation skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise reports.
- Advanced problem-solving abilities, with a talent for analyzing data and developing innovative solutions.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring precision in all aspects of project work.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance requirements.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Environmental, Geologic, or Civil Engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field; advanced degrees or additional certifications are a plus.
