The Role:

We are seeking a dynamic Materials Quality Engineer with a commitment to excellence and the energy to help develop a world class supplier quality organization. In this role, the candidate’s primary responsibility will be to work with a significant amount of autonomy and collaborate with our Global Materials Quality Team to assess and manage supplier risk, performance, and improvement to ensure the continuity of the Entegris supply chain and our customer’s supply chain. This position will support the Materials Solution Division.

This position will be located onsite at our Aurora, IL location.


What You'll Do:

  • Act as the main technical interface between raw material suppliers and Entegris. Collect and evaluate supplier process and product data to ensure all requirements for Incoming material quality is met.
  • Develop in-depth understanding of supplier manufacturing processes and be a subject matter expert regarding how material properties impact product quality in order to reduce and prevent quality issues.
  • Build supplier capabilities, and ensure they are capable to meet all expectations on quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Serve as a technical and risk assessment owner for any Supplier changes impacting the raw material
  • Act as the main contact for developing road map and risk assessment with Suppliers for Continuous Improvement activities on process and metrology
  • Build solid relationships with suppliers and interact regularly in order to focus and drive timely resolution of issues
  • Work closely with other functional groups in quality, manufacturing, commercial and R&D teams, and global materials quality engineers
  • Drive Supplier Corrective actions to completion
  • Lead customer investigations related to raw materials, including directly interfacing with the customer when necessary
  • Utilize Entegris’ quality management processes including audits, FMEAs, corrective actions, scorecards, six sigma projects, management of change, etc., to assure consistent and high-quality raw material supply.
  • Identify and drive best value and cost reduction opportunities with existing supply base and work closely with procurement group to drive to completion.


What We Seek:

  • 0-4 years of related inorganic/organic chemistry R&D or manufacturing experience.
  • B.S Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science
  • A solid understanding of chemical manufacturing processes, continuous improvement methods, problem solving techniques, SPC, and FMEA.
  • Ability to focus and summarize complex data sets, and build decisive action plans based off the data collected towards key
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to develop and foster effective business relationships
  • A sense of urgency to satisy internal and external customer needs
  • A familiarity with Quality Systems and Auditing
  • Knowledge of SPC and statistical software such as Minitab, JMP
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time, both domestically and internationally.

  • An advanced degree
  • Previous demonstrated success working with suppliers or customers
  • Experience in semiconductor, microelectronics, automotive, or high-tech industry
  • Understanding of metrology of materials and polymer processes
  • Six Sigma Green Belt
