Portland, United States Bridge City Law | Accident & Injury Lawyers Full time

Bridge City Law is a different kind of personal injury law firm. We are a team of legal professionals who share the same values and beliefs about how people deserve to be treated and have built our success on serving and being of service to our clients.

At Bridge City Law, we believe the work we do is not just a job. How we care for our clients, support our teammates, be of service in our community, and contribute to caring for our environment are as important as the legal work we do for our clients.

To ensure we meet and maintain the highest standards of social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability, every three years, we voluntarily participate in a rigorous assessment and certification process, administered and verified by the global non-profit B Lap to receive our B Corp Certification.

We passionately seek justice for our clients and help them navigate a complex legal system by providing expertise and guidance, and taking care of their legal needs, so they can focus on what’s most important — recovering from their injuries, caring for their families, and managing their work and other responsibilities.

One of our core values at Bridge City Law is responsiveness and we aim for excellence in our interactions and communications with both our clients and team members. Efficient, well-organized, and clearly communicated processes, procedures, and systems are the foundation for our exceptional service approach and key to our success.

Bridge City Law has grown and expanded as a firm by supporting each individual team member’s independence and autonomy, balanced with mentoring and guidance from more senior team members. Opportunities to ‘round table’ cases and strategize with other attorneys in the firm are highly encouraged, which continues to develop each attorney’s negotiation and litigation skills.

We value work-life, and personal-life balance, and have cultivated exceptional office morale and an environment where quality of life is the culture. Bridge City Law offers a hybrid work model designed to support flexibility in managing work and personal responsibilities with greater ease.

Our firm embraces inclusion and prioritizes cultivating a diverse team of professionals. We contribute to positive social change by participating in community programs that elevate and advance equity and inclusivity and drive innovation and sustainability to address our most pressing environmental needs.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Bridge City Law is seeking an entry-level to five years experience associate attorney and dynamic individual who thrives from taking initiative and is eager to meaningfully contribute to the growth and development of the firm. This is a career path opportunity and ideal for a visionary, emerging attorney. We are looking for a team player who shares our definition of a successful law practice. We are a firm that thinks expansively -- beyond being simply profit-focused, and instead, we prioritize purpose, people, and protecting the planet to positively impact our clients, team, families, and community.

Are you a self-starter and innovative thinker? Have you been looking for an opportunity where your education and experience as an attorney, coupled with your desire to make a positive difference in the firm you work for and the community you live in, would not only be welcomed but encouraged?

If working for a well-established and respected personal injury law firm in the Portland metro area, a firm that has built its practice on being of service and building relationships is the type of position you’re seeking, please read on.

As an associate attorney, you will be responsible for proactive client care and providing exceptional quality service in managing your cases. Your caseload will provide an opportunity for you to apply your legal expertise and litigation skills to deliver the most optimal results for Bridge City Law clients. We are seeking a candidate who will derive meaning and fulfillment in being a fierce legal advocate for their clients, who is a strategist, and who has outstanding analytic and evaluation skills to successfully negotiate the best possible outcome for clients.

Recent law school graduates who have successfully passed the bar and attorneys with up to five years of experience are encouraged to apply.

Bridge City Law is a Portland Personal Injury Law Firm built on purpose, meaning, service, and relationships. We help our clients navigate the complex personal injury claims process by providing experienced, compassionate, and responsive legal counsel and expertise. We are proud to be the first B Corp Personal Injury Law Firm in the world and align with the philosophy of the global B Corp movement that business (and law firms) can be a force for good.

If you are interested in exploring this position and joining our team, please send your resume and a cover letter, including what interests you about this specific opportunity, to Jim Dwyer at Jim@BridgeCityLawFirm.com.

OBJECTIVES OF THE ROLE

A Bridge City Law Attorney provides legal representation, advice, and guidance to injured clients while ensuring that they receive justice and are fully compensated for their losses. They meet with prospective clients to evaluate potential personal injury and provide legal advice.

As lawyers, there is great emphasis placed on knowing the technical aspects of what we do and getting a fair resolution of a case for our clients — and not enough attention on the actual relationships that clients experience with their attorney and legal team.

At Bridge City Law, the experience that our clients have working with us IS as important as us advising the ins and outs of personal injury law. A great settlement for a client is directly affected by how a client “feels’ they were treated by their attorney. This is why we return clients’ phone calls, emails, and texts promptly and why we have regular contact with clients. They are important and valuable as people  -- not just as our clients and we want them to know that. It is our focus on the human being that elevates the experience our clients have working with us, which we believe is the attorney-client relationship they deserve to have.

  • Self-starter with strong time management skills and the ability to be responsive and prioritize urgent matters

  • Undergraduate degrees including Psychology, Sociology, or Anthropology are helpful
  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in Oregon
