Days vary between scheduled school book fairs, evening school events,
Community fairs, store events, and fulfillment assisting.

Typical hours may look like: Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons, Thursday evening, a once a month Saturday event.

This part time position is a combination of attending community and school book-selling events and helping with fulfilling online orders. This position is for someone who enjoys being with people, loves talking about books, is passionate about literacy and bilingual education, and is okay with tasks such as packing, lifting, setting up tables, and organizing books. Comfort with Square POS system a bonus.

Event host duties include
Positively representing Linda Letra Bilingual Books
Setting up tables with tablecloths,
Displaying books delivered to pop-up locations,
Welcoming and working alongside volunteers
Making book recommendations
Suggesting complimentary books to purchase
Conversing with and being friendly with parents and kids
Using a simple POS-Point of Sale system, accepting multiple forms of payment
Offering great customer service
Must be able and willing to pass a volunteer background check required for school fairs.
Using a cart or dolly to move boxes of books to and from delivery locations (larger fairs will have a delivery service for books)
Ability to lift 25 lbs.

Fulfillment assistant duties include
Attention to detail
Breaking down and setting up shipping boxes
Accurately counting books,
Preparing shipping labels
Carefully packing book collections
You must be able to lift 25 lbs
Using a cart or dolly to move boxes of books to and from delivery locations

Extra duties may include Light cleaning, organizing bookshelves, and unpacking boxes.

About Linda Letra Bilingual Books: LLBB is a small, newish local business started by a former teacher with the mission to support bilingual programs, schools, and families with award-winning bilingual children's literature collections in both English and Spanish. Specialties are curated collections, classroom libraries, and special orders and some local book fairs around the Portland Metro Area.
