Boston, United States Myomo, Inc. Full time

Have you ever felt blown away by the miracles of modern medicine, while also feeling that the patient experience still leaves much to be desired?

Here at Myomo, Inc., it's our mission not only to leverage the power of cutting-edge robotic technology to improve patient quality of life, but also to demonstrate a commitment to prioritize and serve the patient.

We are 1st in the U.S. to develop and market the MyoPro® product line of lightweight, non-invasive, powered arm braces (orthoses) to restore function in the paralyzed or weakened arms and hands of individuals that have suffered a stroke, spinal cord or nerve injury such as brachial plexus injury, or other neuro-muscular disability such as traumatic brain injury, (TBI) brachial plexus injury, (BPI) or multiple sclerosis (MS). It is the only device that, sensing a patient’s own neurological signals through non-invasive sensors on the arm, can restore their ability to use their arms and hands so that they can return to work, live independently and reduce their cost of care.

At Myomo, we are driven by a mission to enable independence and confidence for stroke survivors as well as those living with the impact of another neurological disorder. Our teams continue to break through barriers, defining the limits of what is possible in both medical device robotics and our global system of care.

We're currently seeking a strong Service Technician who will maintain responsibility for contributing to RMA’s for our MyoPro Product Line. This role requires a hands-on individual with experience in building mechanical and electrical assemblies within the regulated medical product industry.

The ideal candidate should possess strong mechanical aptitude, good problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and with others. Additionally, they should be prepared to assist with other tasks, as appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Expertise: Strong mechanical and electrical skills, with the ability to understand and troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems.
  • Problem-Solving: Effective at diagnosing and resolving complex issues with equipment.
  • Communication: Clear and effective communication with team members, customers, and cross-functional teams. Address issues, provide updates, and ensure satisfaction.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in executing repairs, conducting tests, and adhering to procedures.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Tool Proficiency: Skilled in using hand tools, and other diagnostic and repair equipment.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of repairs and service activities using Excel and other Microsoft Office products, along with other applications.
  • Customer Service: Strong customer interaction skills for providing support and explaining technical issues.
  • Equipment Maintenance & Repair: Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on Myomo devices and related equipment.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to customers and field technicians.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct performance tests and quality checks to ensure equipment meets safety and functionality standards.
  • Compliance: Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure all equipment complies with safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience assembling electro-mechanical medical products and sub-assemblies.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and follow assembly and test procedures.
  • Experience with basic machining tools and techniques.
