Duration: 6-month contract (possible extension)

Work Schedule: Hybrid- 2-3 days a week in the office

Location: NYC, Downtown NY. 10017

Pays - $60/hr - $70/hr (depends upon experience)


VM ware (ESXi) NSX-T consultant- with strong experience in Infrastructure as code (IaC) technologies. Exp 3-4 years.


Who you are: As a Systems Administrator (VMware), you will be responsible for managing and maintaining virtualization environments. You possess a robust technical background in VMware technologies, including ESXi hypervisor, vSphere, vCenter, Horizon View, and Unified Access Gateway. Your deep understanding of virtualization, combined with excellent problem-solving skills, makes you an invaluable asset in optimizing and securing virtual infrastructures. You are passionate about technology and have a proven track record of successfully integrating VMware products across multiple data centers, ensuring seamless operations and disaster recovery capabilities.


How you will impact:

  • Oversee the design, deployment, and management of VMware virtual infrastructures, ensuring optimal performance and high availability.
  • Manage virtualization assets, including inventory, maintenance of virtualization hosts and storage, warranties, licenses, and support contracts.
  • Implement and integrate VMware products across multiple data centers, participating in testing disaster recovery and business continuity systems.
  • Automate server build templates and improve the efficiency of virtual environments through innovative solutions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot technical issues to maintain system reliability and performance.
  • Mentor and train team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for virtualization architectures, configurations, and processes.
  • Stay current with emerging virtualization technologies and recommend innovative solutions to enhance system capabilities.


What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with VMware technologies: ESXi hypervisor, vSphere, vCenter, Horizon View, Unified Access Gateway, vMotion, storage vMotion, instant clone, refresh/recompose/rebalance, distributed switches, distributed resource scheduling, high availability, and fault tolerance.
  • Strong working knowledge of server build template automation and managing VMware servers and VMware Horizon virtualization platform.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing VMware products across multiple data centers and participating in disaster recovery planning.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts and security best practices in a virtualization environment.
