Pay rate: $40 to $45 per hour
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network & Server Engineer to lead the decommissioning of our on-premises server and to specify a new solution. The successful candidate will be responsible for migrating the old virtual machine (VM) to the new VM while ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess the current on-premises server infrastructure and develop a comprehensive plan for its decommissioning.
- Specify and implement a new server solution that meets the organization's requirements for performance, security, and scalability.
- Lead the migration of existing VMs to the new virtualized environment with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
- Work closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure seamless integration of network and server solutions.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in network infrastructure planning, design, implementation, and maintenance
- Expertise in Vmware virtualization technologies
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft server environments including Windows Server OS
- In-depth knowledge of Exchange Server administration
- Experience with virtualization solutions such as Hyper-V or other hypervisor platforms is desirable
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying potential challenges
