Lead Data Architect


The Lead Data Architect will be essential in developing and implementing robust data governance policies and practices. This individual will work collaboratively with business and IT teams to ensure data assets comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data architecture, data governance, and data security, with a passion for fostering a data-centric culture. This position reports directly to the VP of Business Intelligence.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in data architecture and data governance.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases, with experience in NoSQL databases and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP) and data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
  • Understanding of ETL processes and tools (e.g., Python, Airflow).
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data security practices.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor teams, manage projects, and drive cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement comprehensive data governance frameworks and policies to ensure data quality, consistency, and security across the organization.
  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance data architectures that support business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure data architecture and practices comply with relevant industry standards and regulations, such as GDPR, HIPAA, and CCPA.
  • Establish and enforce data quality standards and practices, including data cleansing, validation, and monitoring processes.
  • Collaborate closely with business and IT teams to understand data requirements and align data initiatives with company goals.
