Medical Liaison / Medical Communications Specialist Job Description

  

Location: Hybrid/Remote options available


Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Medical Liaison / Medical Communications Specialist to bridge the gap between our scientific research and our stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical science, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for improving patient care through effective medical communication. You will be responsible for facilitating clear and accurate dissemination of medical information, fostering relationships with healthcare professionals, and supporting our strategic objectives.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Medical Liaison Duties:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for medical inquiries from healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and other stakeholders.
  • Provide scientific and clinical expertise to support product-related discussions and address complex medical queries.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with KOLs, researchers, and clinical practitioners to gather insights and support clinical strategies.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of advisory boards, clinical trials, and investigator-initiated studies.


  • Medical Communications Duties:
  • Create, review, and disseminate high-quality medical content including publications, presentations, and educational materials.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the accuracy and consistency of medical information across all communication channels.
  • Manage and update medical content on the company’s website and other digital platforms.
  • Coordinate and contribute to the development of regulatory submissions and other compliance-related documentation.


  • Strategic Support:
  • Assist in the development of strategic medical communication plans to align with company objectives and market needs.
  • Provide input on market trends and competitive intelligence to guide product development and positioning.
  • Support the planning and execution of scientific meetings, conferences, and webinars.


Qualifications:


  • Education: Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD) in life sciences, medical sciences, or a related field. A combination of a relevant bachelor’s degree and extensive experience may also be considered.


  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in medical affairs, medical communications, or a related role within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device industry.


  • Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex scientific concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Proficiency in developing and delivering scientific presentations and educational materials.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
