Desktop Support Team Lead


Job Summary:


We are seeking an experienced Desktop Support Team Lead to join our dynamic IT team. The

ideal candidate will have a strong background in desktop support, with at least 10 years of

experience in the field, including 2-3 years in a leadership role. The Desktop Support Team Lead

will be responsible for overseeing a team of support technicians, ensuring the delivery of high quality technical support, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service

efficiency and customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities:

o Lead, mentor, and develop a team of desktop support technicians.

o Foster a collaborative team environment that promotes professional growth and

high performance.

o Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues and provide advanced

troubleshooting support.

o Ensure timely resolution of support requests, maintaining a high level of service

quality.

o Identify opportunities for process enhancements and implement best practices to

improve operational efficiency.

o Develop and maintain support documentation, including procedures, knowledge

base articles, and training materials.

o Monitor team performance metrics and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure

compliance.

o Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team

members.

o Work closely with other IT teams to coordinate support efforts and resolve crossdepartmental issues.

o Collaborate with management to align team objectives with organizational goals.

o Conduct training sessions for end-users to promote self-service options and

improve user proficiency with technology.

o Oversee hardware and software inventory, ensuring adequate resources are

available for the team.


Qualifications:

o Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related

field preferred.

o Minimum of 10 years of experience in desktop support or a similar role.

o 2-3 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity.

o Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and desktop

applications.

o Experience with remote support tools, ticketing systems, and IT service

management frameworks (e.g., ITIL).

o Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, manage conflict, and drive

performance.

o Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-focused

mindset.

o Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical

issues effectively.

o CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation, or similar certifications preferred
