Director, Business DevelopmentAspen Tech is currently seeking a Director, Business Development with a proven track record of building global lead generation organizations in the high tech software marketplace. The individual we seek is a sales professional who is highly motivated and a self-starter with excellent business acumen. This individual must be able to build, develop and drive a high energy lead generation team through a focused and disciplined approach centered around customer outreach. Candidates will build a team that are able to confidently engage customers, evoke interest in Aspen Technology's solutions, qualify and disqualify prospects, think quickly on their feet, and speak intelligently with a variety of buyers. Leadership rather than management is a requirement. That leadership requires an individual that can both set a vision and roll up their sleeves enabling new hires and conducting business alongside their team of business development representatives.Your ImpactManaging a team of business development specialists who are geographically dispersed.Achieving quarterly and annual targets.Setting a clear vision for the business development team that is reinforced through actions aligning with that direction.Developing and growing a pipeline of opportunities for AspenTech products within the Process Industries through focused and disciplined campaigns.Liaising and working with departments within AspenTech (e.g. Marketing, Sales and Operations Departments) to achieve desired business results.Developing and updating pipeline and activities in Salesforce on a daily basis.Working as a leader and a contributor, when needed, to ensure targets are achieved as forecasted.Be a self-learner that is inquisitive and with the ability to pick up complex topics such as machine learning, Smart manufacturing, and IoT.What You'll NeedMinimum of 10 years of sales experience (software sales preferred) and 3+ years sales management experience with a demonstrated track record showing multi-year achievement against quota.Demonstrated success in building teams outside the U.S.Demonstrated track record in successful business development and direct sales of software solutions.Fast learner and self-starter.Experience with lead generation technologies in the marketplace.Ability to manage marketing and sales campaigns teams across multiple product portfolios, industry verticals and geographies.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Highly disciplined and well organized.University degree required.
