Sustainability Operations Supervisor

A Sustainability Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Sustainability Team’s Day to day operations, client interaction and job status updates. This role involves coordinating efforts across various departments to ensure clients’ sustainable request are being met. This person will need to be able to lead a team of 5 while also having great communication skills to be on client calls/meetings. This is an in-office role 5 days a week in our Addison, TX office.


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with procurement teams to source sustainable methods for waste/recycling.
  • Assess and select vendors based on their sustainability practices and specific to project type.
  • Create, implement and revise SOP’s for the team and ensure efficient workflow procedures.
  • Develop and implement programs to engage employees in sustainability initiatives.
  • Provide training and awareness sessions to promote sustainable practices among staff.
  • Manage day to day operations for the Sustainability team, keep track of all job statuses and be a point of contact for any issues.
  • Collect and analyze data related to sustainability performance.
  • Prepare regular reports on the organization's KPI’s for the team.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including facilities management, supply chain, and human resources, to integrate sustainability into their operations.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to achieve sustainability goals.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in sustainability performance.
  • Implement new initiatives and technologies to enhance operational sustainability.
  • Stay informed about and ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies as necessary.
  • Communicate sustainability initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Engage with employees, suppliers, and the community to promote a positive image of the organization's commitment to sustainability.


Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in environmental science, sustainability, business, Operations management or a related field.
  • Previous experience in sustainability operations, facilities management, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with sustainability standards and best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess and interpret sustainability data.
  • Project management skills to plan, execute, and evaluate sustainability team initiatives.
  • Ability to identify and address operational challenges related to the team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing sustainability requirements and organizational priorities.
