POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 standards and has knowledge of ISO 14001. This role involves leading quality assurance and control activities across the manufacturing process to ensure products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. The Quality Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives, conduct audits, and ensure that customer satisfaction is achieved.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • ISO 9001 Compliance: Ensure the company’s QMS is fully compliant with ISO 9001 standards. Maintain and continuously improve the QMS documentation, processes, and records.
  • Quality Assurance: Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols, inspection processes, and testing procedures to ensure that products meet or exceed customer requirements and industry standards.
  • Audits: Plan, conduct, and oversee internal and external audits to ensure compliance with ISO 9001/ISO 14001 and other relevant standards. Prepare for and facilitate third-party audits.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement within the manufacturing processes, and lead initiatives to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance product quality. Implement lean manufacturing practices where applicable.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the quality assurance team, providing guidance and support to ensure that all team members are effectively contributing to the company’s quality objectives.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Monitor customer feedback and complaints, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Training: Develop and deliver training programs to staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure that suppliers meet the company’s quality standards. Conduct supplier audits as needed.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of quality control activities, audit results, and non-conformance issues. Prepare and present quality reports to senior management.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all products and processes comply with relevant regulatory requirements and standards.


SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and familiarity with ISO 14001 standards. ASQC certification is a plus.
  • Experience with auditing and compliance in an ISO 9001 certified company.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to implement corrective actions effectively.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in quality management software and tools.


EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a quality management role within a manufacturing environment.
