BASIC PURPOSE: Sort and distribute incoming/outgoing US and interdepartmental mail in a timely and accurate fashion. Assist Mail Services and Facilities with other related duties as assigned under Management direction.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Pick up, sort, and deliver all incoming mail and packages to various departments.
  • Record express information in an electronic tracking system to acquire signatures.
  • Ensure US outgoing mail is set for pick up by presort vendor by end of day.
  • Manifest and forward incoming packages for the fleet via warehouse and Port Agents with the use of various Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
  • Operate company van/shuttle during periods of emergency absences or vacation as necessary.
  • Research and provide status and information on mail and packages received as requested.
  • Prepare crew mail packages, labels and manifests shipped to the fleet via overnight carrier systems (FedEx, DHL).
  • Assist Mail Clerk II receiving all incoming packages in the loading dock area as needed.
  • Assist with sorting, scanning and stacking packages according to ships.
  • Assist in maintaining the loading dock free and clear.
  • Serve as back up to Mail Clerk II.
  • Train to operate and maintain an EcoloxTech E240 Unit / Cs 900 series Electrostatic sprayer.
  • Assist in restocking of PPE in the mail room and other areas of each building.
  • Loading Dock Specific Responsibilities.
  • Assists Mail Clerk II with:
  • Responsible for receiving, sorting of all incoming packages in the loading dock area.
  • Manifest and forward incoming packages for the fleet via consolidator warehouse and Port Agents using various Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
  • Sort, scan and stack packages according to ship.
  • Responsible for receiving carriers and maintaining the loading dock free and clear.
  • Closely monitor crew mail packages loaded and wrapped on pallets by carrier for transport to consolidator's warehouse.
  • Prepare weekly manifest detailing mail forwarded for each pallet according to vessel.

  • Provide weekly reports of total items/ pallets forwarded to the Fleet via consolidator and courier.
  • Ensure package(s) tracking information is transferred to Corporate Services intranet folder, making it available to the fleet within 24 hours of shipment.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:


EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent.


EXPERIENCE: One year of previous mailroom experience in a medium to large organization.


KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of or ability to properly and safely operate various mailroom equipment such as the electronic tracking system.
  • Basic knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office to include Word, Outlook and intermediate-level Excel.
  • Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy, both orally and written, and provide professional customer service.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail, ensuring strict accuracy in work while meeting various deadlines.
  • Ability to efficiently manage time and workload with minimal supervision which includes the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks and prioritize work.
  • Ability to quickly learn and become proficient with mailroom processes, procedures and policies.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast pace environment. With reasonable accommodation, ability to properly lift and carry up to 70 pounds as well as safely bend, stoop, reach, pull and push on a frequent basis.
  • Ability to operate a pallet jack which may lift an excess of 200 lbs. Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and use proper defensive driving techniques while adhering to all local, state and federal traffic laws when operating NCLH vehicles.
  • Possess and maintain a good motor vehicle record to include no more than a minimal amount of points assessed against driver's license as well as no DUIs, DWAIs and suspended license on record. Ability to work overnight hours as needed.
