About Kinovi Kinovi is developing a revolutionary tool to aid in the discovery of life-changing drugs by reducing the time and resources needed to bring small molecule drug candidates to investigational new drug (IND) status. By combining cutting-edge chemical sensing technology with exclusive methods of protein synthesis and stabilization, Kinovi will deliver to drug hunters what they have been asking for: drug-protein binding kinetics for every stage of the drug discovery process. Job Description As the CTO, you will oversee all aspects of technical leadership, product development, and technical team formation. You will forecast product evolution and coordinate resourcing with the executive team. You will work with the executive team to ideate and agree to technical milestones. You will participate in fundraising efforts as the technical leader of Kinovi, and you will be responsible and accountable for technical outcomes, which will include ongoing investor relationship management. You will ultimately evolve to co-craft a long-term vision with Kinovi leadership. You possess a rare combination of technical prowess, planning excellence, and execution ability. You will build prototypes, MVPs, and shippable products on schedule and budget. You will devise and implement effective project management tools that suit your style and allow you to fulfill Kinovis technical objectives. You will document and protect trade secrets, patentable inventions, and other proprietary know-how by working closely with IP counsel. Responsibilities Become fluent in Kinovis tech roadmap & IP portfolio. Participate in fundraising efforts on an ongoing basis. Lead a team that will: Convert primary market research intelligence into product requirements. Coordinate sponsored research with university collaborators. Horizon scan complementary technologies for licensing or collaboration. Identify and manage all third-party suppliers of raw materials, components, and build and ship product. Interview, qualify, and hire technical direct reports. Minimum Requirements Doctoral degree or doctoral candidate in a physical or life science related field (or equivalent private sector experience). Experience leading a team. Ideal Qualifications Your doctoral and/or post-doctoral experience may have focused on: Solving protein structures by X-ray crystallography, NMR, or Cryo-EM Surface chemistry and functionalization Conventional or digital microfluidics Novel electronic devices, including bioelectronic devices Chemical or biological sensors Sensor data analytics Characterizing and/or modeling protein conformational dynamics Characterizing and/or modeling drug-protein interactions You are a named inventor on one or more patent applications. Experience with or an understanding of small molecule drug discovery.
