San Francisco, United States Benchling Full time
ROLE OVERVIEW

We’re looking for a skilled storyteller to be the fuel for Benchling’s content program. As Benchling’s first dedicated content marketer, you’ll be a pivotal part of all our marketing motions, creating content across the funnel — from brand awareness through product adoption. You’ll be responsible for creating high-quality content in many formats: blog articles, community posts, webinars, email campaigns, white papers, case studies, customer interviews, stage presentations, videos, and more.

Our team’s job is to make Benchling stand out as both an enterprise SaaS product trusted by global pharma companies, and a modern, fun brand that scientists love. In this role, you’ll partner with our brand designer and videographer to make professional multimedia content, collaborate with our PR team on magazine-ready editorial pieces, and work with our community manager, customer marketer, and product marketers to tell high-quality, technical stories about our product, our customers, and science.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work cross-functionally with demand generation, social media, community, PR, strategy, events, and product marketing teams to create content that powers all our marketing efforts
  • Interview scientists and product experts across the company to produce detailed content about our products and how to use them
  • Manage editorial calendar of content for our blog and online community
  • Analyze content performance and web metrics and refine strategies to improve engagement and reach
  • Lead multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced and time-sensitive environment
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 4+ years of experience in a content role, ideally with a science background or with experience writing for a highly technical audience
  • Strong writing skills, a knack for making complex concepts simple, and the ability to edit and write according to brand guidelines
  • A results-oriented mindset with a portfolio of high-performing, fun content to prove it
  • Desire to get in the weeds on product knowledge and truly get to know our customers
  • Proficiency in content management systems (CMS), Google Analytics, and basic knowledge of design tools like Figma and Photoshop
  • Motivation to be an active player and positive contributor on our team and across the broader business — asking questions and staying curious, communicating clearly, and living our Benchling company values
HOW WE WORK

Flexible Hybrid Work: We offer a flexible hybrid work arrangement that prioritizes in-office collaboration. Employees are expected to be on-site 3 days per week.

SALARY RANGE

Benchling takes a market-based approach to pay. The candidate‘s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, interview performance, and work location. For this role, the base salary range is $125,000 to $169,000.

Total Compensation includes the following:

  • Competitive salary and equity
  • Broad range of medical, dental, and vision plans for employees and their dependents
