A substantial hedge fund is looking for a Head of Trade Surveillance based in the New York Office.


The fund is a multi-manager model with a number of investment pods across the business.


The fund has a significant headcount and huge growth plans for its Compliance function.


The position will work closely with the CCO and the Investment Teams leading and building out the trade surveillance system and monitoring on multiple asset classes.


Some of the main responsibilities will include:

  • Perform real time and post trade surveillance of securities and financial instruments transactions.
  • Identify, manage, and escalate potential regulatory failures and risks.
  • Maintaining and performing surveillance reviews on multiple asset classes.
  • Generating reports, performing data analysis, and providing troubleshooting support on multiple projects.
  • Prepare and present quarterly trade desk review reports and dashboards.
  • Maintain and improve appropriate control environment to manage and mitigate regulatory risk associated with algorithmic and electronic trading.
  • Enhancing the compliance tools and surveillance systems.


The ideal candidate will have significant trade surveillance experience and knowledge. Multiple asset class coverage would also be highly desired.
