Construction Estimator/Pre-Construction Director

We are looking for an organized, detail oriented senior estimator/pre-construction director to prepare accurate commercial construction estimates for projects. You must have at least three (3) years of construction estimating experience. You must be thorough and able to effectively communicate with clients, subcontractors and design professionals. We specialize in design-build projects and many of our projects are negotiated and often require conceptual/budget estimates. We also work with multiple architects on local mainly private negotiated bid projects.

We are a small company with a relaxed and encouraging work atmosphere. We have multiple upcoming projects with lots of growth potential. Experience in and around Charleston, SC is a must. **Please only apply if you have experience in Charleston, SC.**


Also, project management, design-build and residential construction experience are also pluses but not required.


Starting salary is negotiable based on candidate's experience and skills set.


Responsibilities

  • Understand the project/program and its requirements and be able to thoroughly understand blueprints and subcontractor scope of work.
  • Direct and manage all pre-construction responsibilities for projects under contracts up until project turnover to project managers. Manage all estimating and design efforts on design-build and design assist projects.
  • Gather first-hand information from sites and existing conditions.
  • Use Procore or estimating software to prepare estimates. We only self perform limited work so most estimates are material and subcontractor costs.
  • Obtain and review proposals and quotes by subcontractors or vendors
  • Create and submit estimate reports or bids to appropriate persons (project managers, clients, bidding competitions etc.)
  • Build relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers etc.)
  • Demonstrate high character and integrity in all that you do.
