The Technical Reporting and Communications Specialist plays a critical role in these efforts by ensuring timely production and delivery of monthly and quarterly reports that helps translate complex data into clear and concise narratives for internal and external audiences, including investors.

Reporting duties include technical writing and editing, assigning internal deadlines, monitoring progress, and supporting internal teams in pulling together their respective content.

This role is also responsible for general corporate communication tasks as they occasionally occur, such as website updates, press releases, social media updates, maintaining branding guidelines, assisting teams with presentations, and ensuring marketing materials stay up to date.


Essential Functions:

  • Technical writing and editing, including to ensure accuracy, consistency, and proper formatting.
  • Improving and managing processes to deliver monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Managing company-wide reporting schedule.
  • Assigning tasks and deadlines both internally and to external stakeholders.
  • Tracking each work stream to completion.
  • Proofreading and performing quality control on reports and communication materials.
  • Copywriting, assembling information, and translating technical language into cohesive and easy to understand end products.
  • Reviewing and revising content for accuracy and quality, including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and syntax.
  • Creating basic charts using provided data and recommending ways to better display data for increased readability and value.
  • Updating branding, typeface, font size, and other particulars of communication materials in accordance with Treehouse’s branding guidelines.
  • Reporting out to management weekly on reporting schedule, status, and risks.
  • Building trusted relationships with and manage expectations of diverse colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Supporting other internal and external communication efforts, including the website, social media, presentations, and marketing materials.
  • Other activities and administrative/compliance tasks as requested or assigned by management.


Relationship, Interdependency, Supervisory Responsibilities:  

  • Non-supervisory related duties. May lead special projects.
  • Build relationships with Treehouse team members and external stakeholders to secure necessary inputs and to assemble, format, and finalize reports and communication materials.
  • Assist the team in providing quality copywriting for external and stakeholder communication.


Education:

Associate degree in Journalism, Communication, English or related field required.


Experience: 

  • 2+ years of professional work experience that included writing, formatting, and proofreading.
  • Course work on proofreading, writing, and/or editing.
  • Experience in managing internal and external communication efforts preferred. 


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:  

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
