Job Purpose:

The Production Planner will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely production of specialized gensets. This role involves creating and managing production schedules to meet customer deadlines and quality requirements, with a focus on additive manufacturing processes.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Internal Scheduling: Develop and maintain production schedules for additive manufacturing jobs, considering factors like machine capacity, material availability, and post-processing needs.
  • External Coordination: Track and optimize schedules for external post-processing of printed components, including processes such as heat treating, stress relieving, EDM, and machining.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory levels of printing materials and manufacturing equipment to ensure smooth operations.
  • Production Planning: Develop and oversee a master production plan to align with the sales plan, preparing and presenting production reports to management.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously improve production processes by researching and implementing new technologies and best practices in additive manufacturing. Evaluate and recommend scheduling software as needed.
  • Workforce Forecasting: Forecast workforce needs based on production targets and input from the manufacturing engineering team.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned or required for the business.


Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited program, preferably in engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in production planning and scheduling, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with highly engineered products, such as those in the aerospace industry.


Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong planning, analytical, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in the use of production planning software and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with internal teams and external clients.


Role Classification and Working Conditions:

This is a salaried, exempt-level position. The role typically operates in an office environment but may also involve exposure to operations, warehouses, and production environments.


Physical/Other Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to travel as needed, approximately 10%.
