Job Overview:

The Production Planner plays a crucial role in facilitating the effective and timely creation of specialized generator sets. This position is tasked with formulating and overseeing production timelines to fulfill client expectations and quality standards, particularly within the realm of additive manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Internal Scheduling: Design and sustain production timelines for additive manufacturing projects, taking into account machine capabilities, material stock, and post-production requirements.
  • External Coordination: Monitor and enhance schedules for third-party post-processing of printed parts, including treatments such as heat treating, stress relieving, EDM, and machining.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure optimal inventory levels of printing supplies and manufacturing tools to guarantee uninterrupted operations.
  • Production Planning: Create and manage a comprehensive production strategy that aligns with sales forecasts, including the preparation and presentation of production analytics to management.
  • Process Enhancement: Persistently seek to refine production methodologies by exploring and applying innovative technologies and best practices in additive manufacturing. Assess and recommend scheduling software as necessary.
  • Workforce Forecasting: Anticipate workforce requirements based on production objectives and insights from the manufacturing engineering team.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Undertake other tasks and responsibilities as assigned or required by the business.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, ideally in engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in production planning and scheduling, preferably within a manufacturing context.
  • Experience with highly engineered products, particularly in the aerospace sector.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Exceptional planning, analytical, detail-oriented, and organizational capabilities.
  • Proficient in production planning software and data analysis tools.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for effective interaction with internal teams and external partners.

Role Classification and Working Conditions:

This is a salaried, exempt-level position. The role typically functions in an office setting but may also involve exposure to operational areas, warehouses, and production facilities.

Physical/Other Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and transport up to 25 pounds.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary, approximately 10%.
