Job Overview:

The Production Planner plays a crucial role in guaranteeing the effective and timely production of specialized generator sets. This position focuses on developing and managing production timelines to fulfill customer expectations and uphold quality standards, particularly in the realm of additive manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Internal Scheduling: Formulate and sustain production timelines for additive manufacturing projects, taking into account machine capacity, material availability, and post-processing requirements.
  • External Coordination: Monitor and enhance schedules for external post-processing of manufactured components, including procedures such as heat treatment, stress relief, electrical discharge machining, and machining.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels of printing materials and manufacturing tools to ensure seamless operations.
  • Production Planning: Create and manage a comprehensive production strategy that aligns with sales forecasts, preparing and presenting production updates to management.
  • Process Enhancement: Persistently refine production methods by exploring and applying new technologies and best practices in additive manufacturing. Assess and recommend scheduling software as necessary.
  • Workforce Forecasting: Anticipate workforce requirements based on production goals and insights from the manufacturing engineering team.
  • Additional Duties: Execute other tasks and responsibilities as assigned or required by the business.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, ideally in engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in production planning and scheduling, preferably within a manufacturing context.
  • Experience with highly engineered products, particularly in the aerospace sector.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Exceptional planning, analytical, attention to detail, and organizational capabilities.
  • Proficient in production planning software and data analysis tools.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for effective interaction with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Role Classification and Working Conditions:

This is a salaried, exempt-level position. The role typically functions in an office setting but may also involve exposure to operations, warehouses, and production environments.

Physical/Other Requirements:

  • Capability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary, approximately 10%.
