Our client is a ~$1 billion, rapidly growing SaaS company that is seeking a VP of Finance with track record of success to lead the company through its next phase of growth. The VP of Finance will report to the CFO and will be a key partner to the executive leadership team in executing the company's corporate finance strategy.


Position Summary:


The VP Finance will be counted on to act as a strategic thought partner to the finance and accounting organizations and broader ELT, with direct access to not only those stakeholders, but also the Board/PE investors. A key focus will be on helping fuel short- and long-term planning with strong forecasting and financial analysis. This role would be responsible for overseeing FP&A efforts with an eye towards providing meaningful input and storytelling around broader business context and goals, working cross-functionally in a complex environment, and ensuring forecasting is accurate, holistic, and strategic in nature. The VP Finance will partner closely with other senior business leaders (e.g., Sales), in executing the company's financial growth strategy.


Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:


VP Finance Responsibilities:


• Lead the company's financial strategy in alignment with business objectives, partnering with executive leadership and business leaders (GMs).

• Communicate complex financial information to diverse audiences to influence strategic decision-making.

• Oversee the corporate financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning.

• Leverage expertise in subscription-based SaaS models for informed financial decision-making and analysis.

• Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models for forecasting, valuation, and M&A analysis.

• Lead financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, translating complex data into actionable insights.

• Drive continuous improvement of FP&A processes including implementing and optimizing financial systems/tools.

• Prepare impactful board reports and presentations, ensuring compliance with lender requirements and capital structure planning.

• Collaborate with the CAO for monthly accounting closes and trend analysis, maintaining company reporting tools.

• Build, retain, and lead a high-performing FP&A team.


VP Finance Candidate Competencies:


Given the importance of the position to the Company’s planned growth and success, the ideal candidate will bring the following background and experience:


• Senior Leadership: Proven track record of scaling B2B software/SaaS companies (minimum $300M+). Global experience a plus.

• Software/SaaS Expertise: Deep understanding of subscription-based, recurring revenue SaaS business models and revenue recognition rules.

• Private Equity & Board Reporting: Experience and understanding of the pace and rigors of working in a private equity backed environment. Demonstrated ability to be a partner with the board to develop impactful reports and effectively translate financial data into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making.

• Financial Modeling & Analysis: Demonstrated expertise in financial modeling, including complex scenario planning, valuation analysis, and regular forecasting.

• Data-Driven Decision Making: Strong history of utilizing financial and operational data to generate insightful tools, KPIs, and actionable recommendations that empower strategic decision-making, optimizing business strategy and operational efficiency.

• Process Optimization for Growth: Experience optimizing FP&A processes for scalability and growth (organic and inorganic).

• Financial Systems Implementation: Proven track record implementing financial systems and infrastructure automation.

• M&A Expertise: Strong track record of developing detailed financial models to evaluate the financial impacts of M&A/partnerships, leading successful due diligence and global integrations of people, processes, and technology.
