Company Overview

The Energy Delivery Project Management organization is responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale projects in gas compression, transmission, and distribution. The focus is on reliability improvements, infrastructure modernization, and internal customer investments. This team is crucial in providing project management tools and practices across Distribution Operations, Engineering, and Transmission teams. Success is measured by meeting commitments, delivering reliable service, and supporting the company’s overall business strategy.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Plan and manage small to medium-sized projects of moderate to high complexity, ensuring positive business value.
  • Scope & Quality Assurance: Oversee projects to meet agreed scope, cost, schedule, and quality objectives.
  • Project Planning: Develop and maintain project plans to ensure timely deliverables aligned with project objectives.
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage risks, issues, and constraints impacting project execution.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other functional areas to ensure successful project execution.
  • Multi-project Management: Manage multiple projects at various stages of development simultaneously.
  • Project Coordination: Facilitate work flow, ensuring conformity with the project plan covering forecasting, scoping, planning, scheduling, execution, and closeout.
  • Team Leadership: Ensure team members understand their roles and responsibilities in project execution.
  • Communication: Lead project communication throughout the lifecycle, including presentations to leadership.
  • Performance Metrics: Assist in developing and tracking performance metrics for executed projects.
  • Process Improvement: Identify, prioritize, and implement process enhancements that drive performance.
  • Financial Oversight: Validate financial forecasts and reconcile resources and project expenditures.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5+ years of engineering or business experience with demonstrated ability to lead small to medium-scale projects, alongside multiple small-scale projects.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and lead projects to successful completion.
  • Leadership & Organization: Exceptional planning, organizational, and leadership capabilities.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal, written, facilitation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work collaboratively across departments, resolve issues, drive projects to closure, and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to build trust, motivate teams, and navigate conflict with poise.
  • Certification: Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is required within 3 years of starting the position.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with gas compression, transmission, or distribution infrastructure.
  • Experience in identifying and managing project risks.
  • Proven ability to communicate and report project status to senior leadership.


Additional Requirements:

  • Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license required.
  • Work Location: Preference for Jackson work location, though flexibility may be considered based on project locations.
  • Travel & Hours: Requires a minimum of 40 hours per week (45-50 typical). Travel to job sites and project meetings is significant. Willingness to work additional hours as needed, including on-call rotation for storm restoration.Develop and maintain project plans to ensure timely deliverables aligned with project objectives.
